The NSS Unit of Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur, successfully organized a Tree Plantation Drive at a premium villa township known as “Our Town,” located near Khardi–Kasara. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, reflecting their commitment towards environmental conservation.
A total of 71 students participated in the drive, out of which 54 were boys. The program commenced at 10:00 a.m. and continued until 3:00 p.m., including a lunch break. During the drive, more than 50 saplings were planted by the volunteers across the designated areas, ensuring proper spacing and care for their healthy growth.
The primary objective of the drive was to contribute towards environmental protection and to create awareness among NSS volunteers about the importance of preserving nature. Through this activity, students gained practical exposure to environmental sustainability and understood their responsibility towards maintaining ecological balance.
The event not only helped in increasing green cover but also instilled a sense of social responsibility and teamwork among the participants. The initiative was well-coordinated and received positive feedback from all involved.
Overall, the Tree Plantation Drive was a meaningful and impactful activity, reinforcing the values of environmental awareness and community service among the NSS volunteers.
