In alignment with the larger “Drug Free Mumbai” initiative, NSS Unit of Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce organised a dedicated “Nasha Mukti” (Anti-Drug) pledge activity for the Third Year Bachelor of Commerce (T.Y. B.Com.) students. The initiative was conducted in Class 501 and aimed to raise awareness about the severe consequences of substance abuse while fostering a strong sense of personal and social responsibility among the youth.
The activity was successfully coordinated and led by Dr. Harsh Shukla. Under his guidance, the students were educated on the critical importance of maintaining a drug-free lifestyle and the role the younger generation plays in eradicating the drug menace from the city of Mumbai.
The core of the event involved a formal oath-taking ceremony. The T.Y. B.Com. students collectively pledged:
- To absolutely abstain from the use of any illegal drugs or narcotic substances.
- To actively prevent and discourage their peers, friends, and family from engaging in substance abuse.
- To support the vision of a healthy, safe, and entirely drug-free society.
Following the solemn pledge, the session incorporated a digital engagement component. Under Dr Shukla’s direction, all participating students logged in to the designated government/initiative portal to register their commitment. Each student successfully generated and downloaded an official online certificate, serving as a formal record and a personal reminder of the oath they took.
The Nasha Mukti pledge activity in Class 501 was a highly impactful session. It not only reinforced the values of the “Drug Free Mumbai” campaign but also empowered the TYB.Com students to become proactive ambassadors for a healthier, drug-free community.
