On 27th November 2025, Mahatma Night Degree College successfully organized an HIV Awareness Program with a Special Emphasis on Women’s Hygiene. The event aimed to educate students about HIV/AIDS, promote women’s health, and foster awareness regarding hygiene practices among women.
The program commenced with a warm welcome extended to all students and distinguished guests by the WDC Chairperson Dr. Tushar A. Pawar. Dr. Ekanath Zhrekar, the Principal of Mahatma Night Degree College, formally welcomed the gathering, addressed the audience, and emphasized the importance of awareness and proactive health practices.

The resource person for the event was Mr. Umesh Ghuge, Project Manager at Maharashtra State AIDS Control Society (MDACS). Mr. Ghuge delivered an informative session on HIV/AIDS, focusing on prevention, transmission, and the importance of safe practices. He also highlighted the significance of women’s hygiene in maintaining overall health and preventing infections.
The session was interactive, and students actively engaged with the speaker, raising pertinent questions and gaining valuable insights into HIV prevention and women’s health.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the organizers, appreciating the presence of the resource person and the enthusiastic participation of the students.
This initiative was a significant step towards creating awareness and promoting health education among young women, aligning with the college’s commitment to holistic development and health consciousness.
