Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur, celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and positive energy on 21st June 2025 in the college’s multi-purpose hall.

The event commenced at 7:00 p.m. with a warm welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Eknath Zhrekar, who greeted the Chief Guest for the evening, Mrs. Jatinder Kaur, from Mahatma Night Junior College. In his opening remarks, Dr. Zhrekar highlighted the importance of Yoga in daily life, especially for students dealing with academic stress and lifestyle imbalances. He emphasized how yoga can contribute to a balanced, healthy, and focused life.

The highlight of the evening was the live Yoga demonstration by Mrs. Jatinder Kaur, who showcased her expertise through a series of powerful and graceful asanas, including:

  • Tadasana
  • Vrikshasana
  • Padmasana
  • Anulom Vilom Pranayama

The audience was truly captivated by her skill and composure. Under her guidance, all the students enthusiastically participated and repeated the asanas. The entire hall resonated with calmness and unity as everyone followed her lead.

Mrs. Kaur also spoke to the students after the session and advised them to make yoga a regular part of their daily routine to improve physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance .The session was well-attended by all teaching and non-teaching staff members, along with a large number of students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a strong collective resolution to practice yoga regularly .The celebration served not only as a learning experience but also as a motivating force to incorporate wellness practices in daily life.
