On the occasion of International Yoga Day, 21st June 2026, Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce organized a comprehensive Yoga and Wellness Session. The event aimed to promote physical and mental well-being among students through the ancient Indian practice of yoga.
The Session was expertly guided by the distinguished resource persons for the evening: Vice Principal Hemal Pethad and Professor Dr. Lata Krishnan. The event was also graced by the presence of prominent college alumni, Mr. Abhishek, who attended to support and motivate the participants.
The program saw an enthusiastic turnout, with students from both the Junior College and Degree College actively participating in the evening session.
The program commenced at 7:30 PM in the college’s Multi-Purpose Hall. The resource persons addressed the gathering, emphasizing the profound importance of incorporating yoga into daily life to combat stress and improve academic focus.
The practical segment of the evening included:
- Introduction to Basic Yoga Techniques: Step-by-step guidance on breathing properly and aligning the body.
- Basic Asanas: Students were taught foundational yoga postures aimed at improving flexibility, posture, and core strength.
- Meditation Session: The program concluded with a guided meditation practice, teaching students how to calm their minds and improve concentration.
The International Yoga Day celebration was a resounding success. It provided students with practical tools to manage stress and maintain their physical health despite their busy academic schedules. The event officially concluded at 9:00 PM, leaving the attendees feeling rejuvenated, centered, and deeply inspired to make yoga a regular part of their lifestyle.
