Objective
  • To compete with students of other colleges in cultural activities.

  • To raise the bar and meet the high standards of proficiency set up by the Mumbai University Youth Festival.

  • To appreciate and experience cultural activities, art and literary activities in its purest form.

The circular for the MU Youth Festival 2025-26 was circulated in the students’ groups on 18th July 2025. It was ensured that the new batch of F.Y.B.Com. Had come in, allowing for participation from all three classes F.Y.B.Com., S.Y.B.Com., and T.Y.B.Com. The students of our college were glad to participate in the Zonal Round for Zone II of the 58th Inter-Collegiate / Institute / Department Youth Festival Academic Year-2025-26. A separate MU Youth Festival WhatsApp group was created for communication with participants and for online registration to the festival portal.

6 students of the college enrolled for 6 different Literary and Fine Art Events organized at the MU Youth Festival 2025-26. In the Literary and Fine Art events students participated in Elocution, Marathi (solo), Debate (Hindi), Story Telling Hindi (solo), Story Writing Hindi (solo), Spot Painting (solo), Mehendi Art (solo). Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce participated in the Zone II rounds of the festival, comprising all Central Sub-urban colleges and Navi-Mumbai Colleges affiliated to University of Mumbai.

The participants of the elocution, debate, story telling and story writing events prepared their scripts. Rehearsals were taken in the ground floor multipurpose hall of the college by Professor Dr. Lata Krishnan. The Mehendi Art and Spot Painting participant practiced at home. The Performing Art students worked very hard preparing for the zonal events. All the participants did their best in the qualifying rounds that took place on August 5, 2025 Time: 9.00 AM in Chandrabhan Sharma College of Science and Commerce, Powai, Mumbai. They gave a tough competition to participants of different reputed day colleges.

It was the second time our college participated in the Mumbai University Youth Festival. Principal Dr. Eknath Zhrekar encouraged the participants and supported and guided them, ensuring that all their needs were met. Cultural Committee Chairperson Professor Dr. Lata Krishnan coordinated and facilitated the registration and participation process.

Students had a good experience and learned to compete fiercely and fairly in the most prestigious and popular Mumbai University Youth Festival.
