30 students of the college joined by 2 teachers Dr. Harsh Shukla, Head, Department of Economics and Dr. Lata Krishnan, Head, Department of Commerce took a bus to Bandra Kurla Complex on 24th September 2024 to visit the SEBI office. They reported to the venue at 10:00 a.m.
The students were happy to enter the BKC SEBI Office premises and cheerfully took group photos in the impressive vicinity. After the security check procedure they were guided to the 5th floor conference hall where the resource person Mr. Rahul Kelapure was waiting for them. The students were seated and offered water and light snacks.
Resource Person Mr. Rahul Kelapure welcomed the group and started his presentation. He spoke about the history of SEBI and the need and importance of the role played by SEBI. He said, “Investors will be encouraged to invest fearlessly only if SEBI monitors and controls the entire system.”
The Presentation was followed by a Quiz round. Mr. Kelapure asked interesting questions to test the learning of the students. Students answered many questions correctly and learned from the mistakes they made.
The interaction between Mr. Rahul Kelapure and the students was gripping and the session was filled with excitement! It was amazing to see how the resource person Mr. Rahul Kelapure was differently abled (sight impairment, blind) however this did not have any adverse impact on his session. He made an excellent presentation and helped achieve the objective of the field trip to SEBI.
The session ended at 12:30 pm. Nandini Khatri of T.Y.B.Com. presented a formal vote of thanks and the students took a group photo with the resource person.
The students took a bus ride back to the college.
