The IQAC and Department of Commerce in collaboration with Futurevest Learning LLP, Bombay Stock Exchange organized a three days specialized workshop for SYBCOM students to create awareness about the functioning of the capital market. The primary aim was to educate students about depository services, which allow investors to hold, trade, and manage securities (shares, bonds, mutual funds) in electronic form.

Two batches of 40 each were formed for the workshop.

Mr. Kaushal Mishra and Mr. Mujabir Shaikh from SEBI were the resource persons for the session. Three days were divided as

  • Day 1- 29/09/2025: Introduction to Financial Planning/Introduction to Securities Market
  • Learning outcome: Students gained an understanding of how structured financial planning helps in achieving long-term financial goals and managing uncertainties effectively.
  • Day 2- 30/09/2025: Investor Awareness on Depository Services/How to Buy and sell in stock Market
  • Learning outcome: Students learned how securities are held and transferred electronically, reducing risks associated with physical certificates and improving transaction efficiency.
  • Day 3- 01/10/2025: Introduction to Mutual Funds
  • Learning outcome: Students developed a basic understanding of how mutual funds operate and how they can be used as a tool for diversified and managed investments.
